Massive price and power are part of what you’ll find in the Bugatti Tourbillon. It is the next level of pure automotive excellence from the iconic name.

Bugatti just revealed the Tourbillon with a massive 8.3-liter V16 engine paired with hybrid tech, and yes, it’s naturally aspirated. In 2021, this iconic brand merged with electric sports car brand Rimac to work toward high-end cars that can combine the excellence of both brands. The staggering price of $4.6 million, before customization, means only a select few customers will see this car enter their collections.

    Pure Bugatti style

The highly recognizable styling that has been part of Bugatti tradition will continue with this new model. That means the snorkel-like front grille with the small Bugatti logo in the center, the swooping upward curves that run from the front wheel arches to the rear of the doors and back over the A-pillars, and the low, aggressive stance that makes for an amazing look. When you see a car like this, you know it’s a seven-figure machine of precision, speed, and presence that can destroy any other car that shows up to challenge it to a race.

    Everything is new

You don’t actually expect a high-end brand, like Bugatti, to share elements from one car to the next, but they made a point of sharing this information. Considering the new Bugatti Tourbillon looks extremely similar to the last two cars, its certainly worth noting. Everything from the chassis to the roofline is brand new for this car, which should be ready to be delivered to customers beginning 2026.
In addition to new body elements and a lack of shared parts, this new model has a brand-new powertrain, which is the result of influence from Rimac, making it one of the most interesting elements of this new, top-end hypercar.

    Standard isn’t standard

Cars that play in this sandbox are often customized to meet the desires of each customer in very specific ways. In the past, we’ve seen some Bugatti customers receive cars with some uniquely dynamic color schemes and very specific features. Rather than provide a list of standard features, the Bugatti “Sur Measure” customization program should be available to every customer to create the car they want to see and enjoy. This car should be on display at various concourse shows for several decades, giving the world a look at what each customer has chosen for their car.

    What powers this new monster

With influence in the powertrain department from Rimac, the new Bugatti Tourbillon makes use of a hybrid powertrain. Instead of the old W16 engine, the power setup begins with a naturally aspirated 8.3-liter V16 engine that was designed with the assistance of Cosworth. The engine makes 986 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque on its own. This massive engine is paired with three electric motors, which increase the power output to 1775 horsepower. That’s more like it when you’re talking about one of the most expensive and powerful cars on the planet.
The entire power system is supported by an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which routes power to all four wheels to send this car screaming down the track. Bugatti claims the Tourbillon can reach 60 MPH in 2.0 seconds, and will reach 250 MPH in 25 seconds, which might be a new sprint race for super-high-end sports cars.

Pulling out all the stops in the cabin

Each Tourbillon cabin will likely be a little different, with individual colors that were chosen by owners. The steering wheel and gauges are extremely interesting, intricate, and intriguing. There’s a fixed-hub steering wheel that rotates around the gauges. This means it never blocks the instrument cluster, which is pretty cool. A Swiss watchmaker builds the gauges for this car, and what you get from that is exactly the quality and style you expect. The gauges feature raised numbers and physical needles; you won’t see plastic anywhere, even the clear coverings over the gauge face and center console are made of machined sapphire glass. These gauges are fitting for such an expensive and glorious car.

    Don’t expect a massive screen

Despite the reliance on large infotainment screens in cars today, Bugatti has not embraced this concept in its multi-million dollar cars. That’s probably one of the smartest things about this car. The Tourbillon is designed to be driven on the track, which means you need fewer distractions, not more, when behind the wheel. Of course, if you’re desperate for connectivity, there is a small, hideaway screen that supports Apple CarPlay connectivity. This can give you the GPS connection you desire when you want to take this car on a road trip, which isn’t likely to happen considering how many challenges there are to driving this car anywhere but on a track.

Everyone with money wants these cars

Although most people only ever get to admire Bugatti cars from afar and online, those who actually have the money to buy these cars do so and do so years in advance. All Bugatti cars are already sold out through 2029; talk about a successful business model. That means a long wait for anyone looking to get a new Bugatti Tourbillon and show it over sometime in the next four years.
