Get to Know the Next Generation GMC Terrain
Another GMC SUV is getting a makeover. The next-generation GMC Terrain is here with a bolder style and more tech, all while keeping that traditional GMC feel that you love. It still shares a platform with the Equinox, but if you see the two SUVs sitting side by side at a GMC dealership, you’ll notice the more upscale feel of the Terrain.
New Interior Furnishings
The Terrain’s cabin was due for an update, and GMC delivered with a fresh new look for the well-equipped Elevation trim that now starts the lineup. The low-end SLE and SLT trims have gone by the wayside, leaving us with an entry-level trim that is elevated – just as its name suggests.
The new elevated starting point means that every 2025 Terrain has heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The open and spacious cabin maximizes versatility with 60/40 split rear seats that fold down when you need more cargo space.
New Tech for a New Generation
One of the biggest changes you’ll see in the new Terrain when it reaches your GMC dealership is the massive 15-inch vertically oriented touchscreen that takes center stage in the dashboard. But this not on the only new screen, there is also an 11-inch digital instrument cluster. Below the touchscreen, there are still physical controls for the climate and stereo.
The updated interface uses the latest version of Google’s system. It puts Google maps for navigation within easy reach. You can also download all your favorite apps to the system, which now uses 5G.
Power Just the Way You Like It
While the Elevation trim will be the only model available for the 2025 model year, but when the AT4 and Denali trims arrive in 2026, they will all have the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This powertrain delivers 175 horsepower, which is plenty for this small and nimble SUV.
How much traction do you need? The 2025 Terrain Elevation will come standard with all-wheel drive; a front-wheel-drive version will be available when the 2026 version arrives.
A Whole Host of New Safety Technology
You’ll enjoy peace of mind every time you take the wheel of the new Terrain with its standard suite of advanced driver aids. This small SUV comes packed with over 15 standard systems, including front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, lane keep assist, forward emergency braking, and blind spot warning.
A New Set of Options
The 2025 Terrain will be the first year this SUV will offer a rear camera mirror to help provide a better view behind you. Other new available goodies include a two-tone roof and an AutoSense power liftgate. This liftgate will sense your presence and start to open, so you don’t have to kick your foot under the sensor.
The new Black Package switches out the 17-inch wheels for black 19-inch wheels and blacks out all the badging and trim pieces.
