Big Changes for the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Cabin
The original C8 interior wasn’t exactly outdated, but the latest updates bring it firmly into the modern era and are much better than before. When the new Corvette C8 debuted, it was clear that America’s sports car finally resembled flashy European rivals. With a mid-engine layout and a fighter-jet cockpit, the Corvette C8 was ready to roll. Now, it’s time for some updates.
Six Years Later, None Too Soon
The C8 Corvette has been in production for six years, so it’s definitely time for some refreshments. The cabin that looked so cool in the beginning now looks a little dated with tiny buttons and a boring layout. However, for the 2026 model year, Chevrolet is correcting some of the flaws with a refreshed layout and tech update.
The update expands the infotainment display and somehow squeezes in a third screen. The biggest change is the removal of the 12-inch central infotainment screen. It took up a lot of space on the dash, but it also looked rather small when the display was off. It made one wish for something that didn’t have unused black edges.
Fortunately, Chevrolet has improved both the form and function of the entire setup. The new infotainment screen is now 12.7 inches and occupies more space to the edge of the housing, creating a fuller experience without as much useless space.
More Useful Digital Displays
Despite the digital integration, there are still knobs. The volume knob is now a little bigger with a lit base that makes it easier to find. A large 14-inch digital gauge cluster is also new and keeps drivers informed on the health and performance of the C8. There’s extra display space here as well, with more information like music info and a map.
These displays can be configured to your liking, but you can also let them change based on the drive mode in progress. Another all-new feature for 2026 is the addition of a 6.6-inch touchscreen on the left side of the digital gauge cluster. The most important aspect of this new display is the Performance Traction Management Settings.
The update also allowed Chevrolet to correct the unwieldy location of the HVAC controls from the previous C8 models. Instead of placing them between the two seats, the controls are now under the central dashboard air vent.
Rounding Out the Updates
When you check out a new C8 at your local car dealer, you’ll be impressed by all the changes inside. However, it’s not just interior changes for the 2026 Corvette. A new Performance Traction Management feature is now available for all Corvette models. It’s called PTM Pro and can be used to turn off the electronic stability and traction control systems.
On the exterior, you’ll also find a new electrochromic roof option, which allows you to dim the amount of sunlight coming in through the roof glass. It has settings for full, medium, and low tint. The ZR1 ZTK performance package adds a new brake system, and body color rocker panels are optional on the Z06 and standard on the E-Ray.
Both trims also get blue brake calipers as an option for the 2026 model.
